5 Reasons You Should Switch to LED Lighting

  1. Performance
We may be beating this a bit to death but it’s worth the repetition! LED products last more than 25 times longer than incandescent products, and 10-15 times longer than compact fluorescent (CFL) or metal halide (HID) products. Not only do LED products last significantly longer but the quality of light produced is leaps and bounds better than the alternatives. With no warm-up period and insignificant loss of light over time, LED performance is an obvious winner.

  2. Flexibility
LED technology has come a long way over the past few years. With options and control of color temperature, lumen output, dimming, housing styles and choices in outdoor and indoor fixtures, there is a ton of flexibility with how you can light your space.  LEDs can be purchased to produce “warm” light in residential spaces to very “cool” light for parking lots – and everything you can think of in between.

  3. Environmental Impact
The environmental impact of LED products versus the alternative options are a great point and possibly the best reason of all to switch! LED products require significantly less electricity. Not only do you help by saving natural resources with lowering electricity usage for the LED products, but because LEDs run so coolly, you won’t require as much air conditioning to achieve a comfortable temperature. Also, disposal is much easier on the environment because there is no mercury or other hazardous waste that is used.

  4. Control
LED lighting systems offer a lot of control for consumers. You can create systems of accent lights to accent special areas, downlights for high quality ambient light and so much more. With technology advances, you can also regulate the direction of light spill, color of the light and control of glare. Optics and accessories allow a variety of beam spreads as well. When you start thinking about outdoor lighting, you can control lighting with sensors or even automate by scheduling programs.

  5. Maintenance
You may remember how we talked about life of LED products in the performance section. Due to this long life and quality of light throughout it, there is much less maintenance to worry about in general!
